I had literally the “Best Weekend Ever”  shooting this amazing wedding in Portland Oregon recently!  Mallory was able to come with me for the weekend as my 2nd shooter and we got to hang out with the neatest people and shoot as much as our hearts desired of this beautiful couple and wedding!  The bride and her Mom were an absolute dream to work with, so we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding gig!  I loved that she chose a white theme with bright colorful flowers – the colors just popped and the bridesmaids looked amazing!  And the reception was perfection – the venue was cozy, the decorations were stunning and the people were the very best you can find!

I love shooting with Mallory, we each have different styles, and she brings a lot of fresh perspective and talent to every shoot.  Plus we get to talk photography shop together which may sound a little nerdy, but to me it is so fun!  Plus plus we went to downtown Portland and had the best shopping day and the last plus is that we found the cutest doughnut shop ever!

We are so excited to announce that this wedding has been featured by The Knot online wedding magazine!!

And…. it was also chosen as a winner for the 50 Weddings in 50 States!!

And… it will be featured in their 2016 print magazine!  I couldn’t be more thrilled and grateful to be a part of such a beautiful event!  Thank you Mary and Emily!!

Hey there everyone!

I have new dates for the upcoming classes!  This weather is so beautiful, it is perfect for getting out there and shooting!  In fact, it’s the perfect time to have another Creative Lighting Class and capture some gorgeous sun flare and beautiful silhouettes!

All of the details about the classes are on my website, but here are the basics.  To register, simply email me at

Adobe Lightroom Class:  Thursday, Mar. 10th 8:30 – 2:30, lunch served, $250        details here

Creative Lighting Class:  Friday, Mar. 25th 3:00 – 6:00, $125          details here

Photography 101 and 102:  Thursdays, Apr. 14th and 21st 9:00 – 12:00,   $190         details here

And here are some fun examples showing what you will be able to do after the Creative Lighting/ Understanding Lighting Class.

These students from Southern Utah were the perfect for this shoot.  I love how the lighting just flooded them and they were so sweet with each other.  It’s always so fun to be around engaged couples.  They carry an energy that is so full of excitement and hope and sweet love!  You can almost feel it coming off these images as well.

I had the awesome opportunity to be a 2nd shooter with my good friend, Tina, and it was so fun!  This was totally new for me, I am used to shooting weddings all by myself, and so it was fun to be able to be alot more relaxed than normal and allow for more creativity.  Tina is awesome!  She is the type of photographer that has the “it” factor.  She can get the shots everytime, and may not be able to explain why because she can just see what makes it awesome!  I love working with her because I find myself laughing all the time, especially when talking with her new pal, Skee (inside joke, haha)!

This wedding was a fairytale, held at the gorgeous Villa Sienna a tuscan-y castle-y amazing place!  The bride had the most gorgeous princess gown, classic beautiful red roses and petals were everywhere!  I got to do the images of the groom and his groomsmen, which was awesome, the groom has a goofy fun personality!  Everything went off without a hitch from putting on the bride’s gown to dancing the night away, and I was impressed with how calm the bride remained through it all!  Check it out!

I would love for the entrance of my home to look like this image above.  I love ivy!!

The bride’s slips were huge and had so many layers, her friends almost got lost in them as they were “poofing” them out!

It always makes me choke up when I see others getting emotional!  Love the sweet sentiments that were shared here.

The friends and family were not shy about getting in there and dancing all night!  I’ve never seen the “Marcha”, it’s a customary hispanic marching dance and involves almost everyone there – it was such a blast!  I found myself making lists of everything I am going to do at my own girls’ weddings (a little premature, since they are so young, but hey, I have a great perspective!)
